The Neothink Lexicon

The authoritative definitions of the terms used across the Neothink Institute's framework. Precise language is the foundation of precise thinking. These definitions are not jargon — they are tools.

The Unified Field

The Unified Field of Conscious Civilization

Mark Hamilton's foundational synthesis — the framework showing how individual cognition, social order, economic productivity, and political legitimacy all arise from the same underlying structure: whether human beings are organized around internal authority or external force.

The Bicameral Mind

Julian Jaynes' term for the pre-conscious cognitive structure in which commands were experienced as external voices attributed to gods and obeyed without deliberation. The Unified Field uses Jaynes' thesis as a starting point and extends it into a complete civilizational theory.

The Bicameral Structure

The civilizational architecture built to manage a population during the transition away from the bicameral mind — hierarchy, external authority, obedience, force. Originally a necessary emergency stabilization. Now the permanent operating system of most of human civilization, 2,400 years past its expiration date.

The 2,400-Year Detour

Mark Hamilton's term for the civilizational error originating when Aristotle's fully integrated philosophy was lost and replaced by Plato's hierarchy-compatible emergency philosophy — producing two millennia of suppressed human consciousness and force-based governance.

The Law of Humanity

The natural law of civilization: as force rises, civilization collapses; as force recedes, civilization soars. Demonstrated without exception across every civilization in recorded history. Not a moral preference. An empirical pattern with the longest evidence base in human experience.

The Immortal Mentality

The psychological orientation of the fully awake person — life organized around open-ended value creation rather than survival management. Defined not by denial of mortality but by the absence of survival pressure as the organizing principle of daily existence.

Transcendent Pressure

The internal drive toward creation and contribution that emerges when survival pressure is removed. Unlike the anxiety of survival-based motivation, transcendent pressure is expansive, self-generated, and experienced as exhilaration. The natural state of a consciousness operating without coercive constraint.

Neovia

Neovia

The Neothink Institute's flagship civilizational project. The first city designed from the ground up around the Prime Law prohibition of initiated force. Framed as an anti-extinction architecture — the practical jurisdictional exit from the otherwise inevitable collision between nuclear-era force-based civilization and accelerating AI.

The Prime Law

The prohibition of initiated force: no person, group, or government may initiate force, threat of force, or fraud against any individual's self, property, or contract. Force is justified only in protection from those who initiate it. No exceptions. The constitutional foundation of Neovia.

The Anti-Extinction Architecture

Mark Hamilton's characterization of Neovia's civilizational function. As long as hierarchical force-based systems govern nuclear weapons and AI-accelerated decision-making, civilizational catastrophe is not a risk but a trajectory. Neovia is the first structural exit from that trajectory.

Neothink

Neothink

The integrated mode of cognition — the capacity to hold physics, economics, biology, psychology, ethics, and purpose inside a single causal picture of reality, and to generate understanding from within rather than absorbing it from external authority. Named and developed by Mark Hamilton.

The Supermind

The Neothink mind augmented by artificial intelligence. The human capacity for integration married to the machine's capacity for information processing and synthesis. Mark Hamilton's term for the cognitive state available to individuals who combine Neothink-developed internal authority with the tools of modern AI.

Internal Authority

The condition in which a person's direction, values, and understanding come primarily from within — from genuine observation, integration, and judgment — rather than from hierarchy, credential, cultural consensus, or external command. The developed capacity that Neothink is designed to restore.

Value Creation

The act of producing something — goods, services, ideas, relationships, art, knowledge — that makes existence more valuable for others. The Neothink framework holds value creation as the primary expression of a fully functioning human consciousness, and the engine of all genuine civilizational flourishing.

The Way

The Way

The personal transformation path taught by the Neothink Institute. A subtractive philosophy — the systematic removal of everything that was installed from outside — through which individuals return to the ground of who they actually are. Compatible with any religion or philosophical tradition.

The Ground

The true self. The whole, intact nature within every human being — present before the world began installing its covering. The Ground is not something to be achieved. It is something to be uncovered. "Return to the Ground" is the central practice of The Way.

The Covering

What the world installed over the Ground — the layers of performance, borrowed belief, shame, fear, false identity, and worth-seeking produced by living inside a hierarchy. The word covering is chosen deliberately: it implies that what is covered is already whole.

The Performing Self

The version of the person running the earned-worth operating system — performing for approval from others and the internal critical voice. Not the person. The character built to survive the hierarchical structure. Distinguishing the Performing Self from the real self is the primary work of The Waking.

The Waking

Stage One of The Way. The recognition that one has been living from the Conditioned Self rather than the Ground. The primary practice: seeing clearly, without flinching, without immediately trying to fix what you see. The central question: who is watching?

The Clearing

Stage Two of The Way. The systematic removal of everything false — false worth structures, unforgiven past, borrowed identities, environmental architecture that reinstalls the Conditioned Self. The longest stage. The deepest work. The place where real transformation happens.

The Living

Stage Three of The Way. Operating fully from the awake self in ordinary life. Not as a performance of awakeness — as genuine expression. Growth, creation, love, contribution, building. The path for the rest of a life, without a completion marker.

Pure Honesty

The practice of seeing and acknowledging reality exactly as it is — in oneself, in relationships, in the world — without filtering through emotion, self-protection, wishful thinking, or borrowed authority. One of the primary practices of The Waking.

The Transmission

The act of passing the path to another person. When someone who has walked The Way shares what happened to them — specifically, honestly, as lived experience — and another person receives it. The Way spreads through Transmission, not marketing.
